Susie is the second female addition to the family. On finishing a day ferreting with Fred,  the farmer told us that a ferret had been seen at an adjacent cattery.
Previously one of Fred’s ferrets had been lost rabbi ting, so we made a trip to there to see if it was his. Obviously it was not, but he did offer to find a home for her. I looked in the pet carrier and saw a small, frightened,  very thin ferret. I  picked her up and offered to house her. ( The lost ferret has since been found.)
She was a young animal, and  in a few days had filled out, due to being well fed and has proved to be a gentle and affectionate ferret.      Months on, she has more than doubled in size, and will play given the opportunity, and is very keen to explore the wide world. My hopes of housing in the same cage with Molly never happened, due to Molly’s attitude towards Susie.
I have had her spayed to prevent her coming into season, with the accompanying health problems. Susie had to have a teat removed that had become infected, also she had a severe eye infection caused by a blocked tear duct that required antibiotics and the attention of Grace who evidently cleans the Susie,
Susie has proved to be a very gentle ferret, enjoying the company of other ferrets, cohabiting with Grace who both exercise along with Lucy and Ruby.
